Program Aide Position Opening

Under the general supervision of the Program Manager, the Program Aide will carry out responsibilities in all aspects of the transitional housing program consisting of 15 members and up to 25 children and the continuum of care component of the program. Responsibilities include cooking, overall service delivery, monitoring the safety and well being of the members and children and implementing essential housing service components of the entire program. The Program Aide ensures full implementation of and compliance with the program.
Job Description is as follows:
-Assists with the monitoring of safety of all members and their children.
-Serve as a positive role model at all times.
-Teach, coach and encourage members to make positive behavioral changes, providing appropriate alternatives.
-Prepare quarterly menus for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks for members and children.
-Coordinate the shopping of food/groceries with Program Manager on a weekly basis while adhering to the menu.
-Work closely with members and Case Manager/Program Manager in accessing members benefits.
-Coordinate and implement all meal preparation and service delivery, preparing nutritious and balanced meals to the members.
-Maintain kitchen and food storage areas according to state health and sanitation standards.
-Assist with all Health and Sanitation inspections and other requirements.
-Follow budgetary guidelines and make recommendations that are cost-effective.
-Work with Case Manager and Program Manager on transportation needs for all other aspects of service delivery (health, parenting, education, Life Skills, Recreation and Socialization)
-Involve members in meal planning, shopping, preparation, serving and clean-up.
-Assist Case Manager in transporting members to appointments (if schedule allows).
-Work with other administrative staff on supplies needed for kitchen, member activities.
-Complete all documentation as required.
-Maintain and update inventory forms as required.
-Participate and complete in-service training requirements.
-Follow all reporting guidelines with House Parents and Program Manager
-Work with community partners and volunteers who provide services for Almost Home.
-Attend Staff Meetings, House Parents meetings and all Almost Home member related events.
-Make recommendations to Program Manager for service delivery.
-Recognize and celebrate all special events with members including Birthdays, graduations, holidays, birth of a new child, etc.

-Non-Exempt/40 hour work week.

Qualifications:
-High School diploma or GED. Associates degree preferred.
-At least two years experience working with women and children in a residential setting.
-Safe-Serv certification.
-Valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
-Chauffer’s license.
-Reliable transportation.
-Flexibility to work on a rotating schedule, including days, evenings, overnights and weekends.
