Belinda

“Belinda” was always focused on her education, but had extreme problems interacting with her family.  She lived with her mother, then her aunt, then her grandmother – but she would neither listen to them nor let them help her.  She had two sons by the age of 17, and entered Almost Home.  Here, she learned to let herself accept help and guidance, and reconnected with her mother through family therapy.  She graduated from high school and left Almost Home to attend the University of Missouri-Columbia, where she is majoring in Psychology and has university housing for herself and her sons.
