Sarah

“Sarah” lived with her parents until they divorced and both moved out of town. She then stayed with a friend’s family until she became pregnant, and they asked her to leave.

She moved from one house to another, and eventually started living in cars with her newborn daughter. When she arrived at Almost Home, her daughter was four months old and she was pregnant with a second child. She immediately received regular quality pre-natal care, which previously she had not. Through our care, she began to address the depression and low self-esteem that led her to make poor choices. With encouragement and support, her self-confidence improved as she learned and achieved many of her goals, and at 16 years old she earned her GED.
